"Hold a crown over their heads and help them grow into it."
Gail MacDonald

You know, a day mothering three children sometimes seems to last forever, yet the years fly by!  Most of us try to be good moms, and most of us do a pretty good job of it.  Sometimes, though, I feel I need a little support.

I have found some wonderful support and encouragement with a biblically-based program called Mom-to-Mom, which is held at Grace Chapel in Lexington, Massachusetts.  Linda Anderson created it 10 or so years ago and she still gives most of the presentations.  There is a different curriculum every year for four years.  The program costs pennies and there is child care provided.

300 women gather once a week to hear Linda and other talented speakers lend their support to moms; they have been there and can assure us there WILL be a time when our children leave the nest.  And they assure us we are probably already doing a good job, even though some days we feel we are not!  Linda says, You should aim to grow yourself out of a job, and I believe her.  This year, topics include:  When you're running on empty, the top ten marriage monsters, building a best friend marriage, building kids who make a difference, biblical blueprints for family life, sibling sanity, seeing our children as God sees us, 10 things our husbands wish we knew about them (he he) and parents' ultimate power source.

I cannot even express how this program has helped my mothering abilities to simply blossom.  And my marriage.  And my hobby life.  And my weight, believe it or not.  Every week my husband asks, What are you DOING over there at Mom-to-Mom?  It is unabashedly Christian, and I have been thriving on it.

A session given by Martha Fletcher about the slumps of motherhood actually made me desire to adopt again, and soon we will be adding Grace to our family!

For anyone who feels they could use some mom support but live too far away, there are Linda Anderson books, as well as a program available for use in your own church.

I Love Mom-to-Mom!!!!
